Winchester Gun Safes new line up for 2012!!! Based in Fort Worth, Texas you just know these gotta be good. There are a couple of features I want to point out on these safes. First, Winchester has increased the fire rating on the Silverado series to 2 hours this year and introduced a 75 minute fire protection on the Big Daddy model.Secondly, all of the Winchester safes have “4 way bolt action”. Before I go to far I should point out what that means. Take a look at the door opening in the picture on the details page. Often times the bolts on the hinge side are fixed or welded into spot or, as with the case of internal hinges, there are none.However, with Winchester series, they have gone to the extra expense of having more secure bolt work where the hinge side, top side, bottom side, and opening side all move. Just like on a jewelers vault. Another biggie to point out is they increased the quality of the fire resistant material. The external temperature has gone from a good rating of 1200 degrees to 1400 degrees. One brand new feature they added on the Legacy and Silverado series only is a power docking system! This is a brand new feature for WInchester. With the 2012 series, they have the Legacy, Silverado, Big Daddy, and Ranger series gun safes. They also have their Home and office Safes and another brand new item to their 2012 product list is a EVault Biometric Pistol Safe.
