Hollon Drop Safes

Hollon Safes has just released a new line up of Drop Safes and Depository Safes.  Overall opinion at this point is we really like the electronic keypads or the dual key models.  Not that big on the dial versions. However, we will address that as we go.

Drop Safe model HDS-01K is a dual key model that can be bolted to any surface.  Very good deal for the money when you compare it to other brands at the same size.  This model can also be mounted to a wall. But be careful, due to the weight you better attach it to more than just sheet rock. Please keep in mind that this model is really not intended to hold money for overnight.  If you need something that can take a real beating and hold money overnight night see the larger HDS-2014K

Depository Safe model HDS-2014K is a large dual key safe.  This one can also be bolted to any surface but cannot be bolted to the wall.  It does have 4 bolt down holes predrilled on the bottom.  Excellent value in strength with the added accountabiltiy that a dual key depository safe has by requiring both keys to be present when the safe is opened. One thing a like to do when I train a new employee about safes is give them a sledge hammer and have them whack on the top of one of these safes.  They are always amazed that they can really only put a ding in the surface paint and metal.  (I have been using the same safe to demo this for years and it still looks really good!)

Depository Safe model HDS-2014E is the same safe as above but with an electronic keypad.  This is the preferred lock for most businesses due to the ease of opening and ability to change the code whenever you want and within seconds.  This is important because the key version really can’t be rekeyed by most locksmiths but will require a new lock. (time consuming and expensive) Dial safes can be changed too but only by a locksmith.  Are you getting the impression I like electronic keypads?  Once you have used a safe for a while you will agree.  Please note that most locksmiths like a dial.  Because you will need to call them anytime you need to change the code on the dial.  They charge around $100 to do this….Now do you see why most locksmiths prefer dials!

Depository Safe model FD-3020E is the largest of these new arrivals.  It does have an electronic keypad, and removable shelf.  Comes with four bolt down holes for attaching to the foundation.  This is a very popular model for large churches. Excellent value in such a large safe.  Easy to use keypad and designed for overnight protection of cash.
